I Never Saw Another Butterfly
I Never Saw Another Butterfly, by Celeste Raspanti, is a play being performed at PB & Java. Its planned to be performed on October 14-16 in downtown Greensboro.Directed by Lennie Singer,
I Never Saw Another Butterfly is based around poetry written by Jewish children who lived in the concentration camp Terezin. Fewer than 100 survived. The play centers around Raja, one of the children, and her family, friends, and classmates.“Over 15,00 Jewish children passed though Terezin, and only about a hundred were still alive when Terezin was liberated at the end of the war. These few then went back to the scattered pieces of their lives, their homes, and their families. Raja lived through it all at Terezin, teaching the children when there was nothing to teach with, helping to give them hope when there was little to no reason for hope.”Starring actors from all around Greensboro, and even on of Eastern Guilford’s very own students. This play is produced my the theatre company Shared Radiance, and tickets information will be on www.sharedradiance.org
