The Year The Wildcats Soar

The Eastern Guilford football team has come a long way. In 2013 when Doug Robertson came to Eastern Guilford, he changed the program tremendously. The class of 2014 had a pretty good start to the season. They started off 6-0 and struggled with the middle of the conference. The next season we went 5-1 and struggled in the middle of the conference season. This year, the Class of 2017 have every piece they need to be great. They have a strong core of seniors and juniors that where conference champs in 8th and 7th grade.

This season Eastern has started off 3-0 and our defense has been hold all of there opponents to under 100 total yards of offense. Our running game has been on point averaging over 6 yards per carry. One of our struggles are special teams. The second game of the season we played a 4A program that was suppose to beat us. We can out strong and finished strong we held a team that averages 300 + rushing yards per game to only 70 yards. Our defense was flying to the ball we had 11 hats almost every play. And we have a not one but two dual threat QB’s that should both make all conference.
