Soccer is one the most popular sport in the world. Soccer is the number one sport in the world today. Invented in England in mid 19 centuries, today, more than 240 million people around the world play soccer. People in other country don’t call it soccer they call it “football”. Soccer has two half, each is 45 minutes after that u might get some injury time which is about 4 or 5 minutes, if it was a knockout game for a tournament game, they will give extra time which is 30 minutes.

The first world cup happens in 1930 and the host country was Uruguay and Uruguay also won the first world cup by beating Argentina 4-2 in the final. The last world cup was in Brazil in 2014 which was won by Germany by beating Argentina in the final 1-0. The next world cup will be happening in Russia in 2018. The soccer has most fans in the world estimated 3.5 billion fans.

Soccer season start around august and end in May. After the soccer season the international tournament started like the world cup, European Championship, COPA America, and Confederation Cup. Soccer season never ends. The viewership for world cup 2014 was 2014 World Cup Final Rating: Over 26 Million Americans Watched on TV. A lot of Americans tuned in to watch Sunday's 2014 World Cup final on ABC. ESPN's public relations released the ratings figures for Germany's 1-0 win in Rio. The game averaged over 17.3 million viewers around the world.
