Chaos in Charlotte
In Charlotte this week a 43-year-old African American male named Keith Lamont Scott was shot and killed by a police officer. The police officer who shot Scott was also African-American. Just hours after the fatal shot, there were violent riots in retaliation to Scott's death. The riots resulted in one man being shot and killed, several police officers and civilians being injured and, also the Police made 44 arrests. North Carolina’s Governor Pat McCrory later declared a state of emergency. The National Guard was called in when Charlotte’s police chief said he needed more help.
