The Democratic Divide and the GOP Union
Even with it being months since the last election, the Democrats are still being torn apart about feuds within the left-wing party. In the opposite corner, the GOP is being united under the banner of Trump, despite his rocky start as POTUS. The main two sides in the Democrat feud are the Progressive Democrats and the big business minded Democrats. This feud began during the primaries between Senator Bernie Sanders and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. Since then, the factures in the Democrats have only grown as Minnesota Rep. Keith Ellison lost to former Obama secretary of labor Tom Perez for the Democratic National Committee chair. Despite the fact that Ellison was give the Deputy chair, the progressive Democrats are annoyed at the rival side who they claim “are out of touch with the people and are not ready to move in a new direction.”
On the other side of the fence, President Donald Trump seems to be rallying the GOP together as they plan their next move despite losing their third nominee in his cabinet. The only party that does not seem to be getting any love is the GOP Libertarian party which was on the rise before Trump’s reign began. The reason for this union is that apparently, Donald Trump is a different brand of conservative from the mainstream which has swept through the US for many years. What this says for the future of the nation is unknown as they now have the most power in the house and the senate.
