What do you want to see in the paper?

During lunch today, my group and I asked the students what they would like to see in the school newspaper.

For the most part, the students want to see more sports and music based articles.

Most people are interested in J. Cole, Kendrick Lamar, Drake, Cardi B, and Lil Uzi Vert.

In sports, the students are most interested in their home football team.

On a bigger scale, they would be interested in reading articles about NFL games. While this information is valuable and needs to be known in order to have articles of interest for the students, I wish that there were more interest in worldly issues.

With so much going on in the world, I find it hard to believe that the most interesting thing to someone is a football game or a song.

Several hurricanes, controversial decisions with our presidential administration, climate change, and crimes are all going on every day and it seems to me like no one is interested.

I do love music and I find sports interesting on the occasion, but I think it’s important for young people to be aware and interested in what gores son n their world. We are the generation that will make a difference, but only if someone cares.
