EG Football Conference Champs

For the second year in a row, your Eastern Guilford Football Teams are conference champs. After two tough loses in the beginning of the season against Smith and Page, a lot of people lost confidence in us and hopped off the bandwagon. But after a lot of work and team bonding we came together as one and began doing what we do best which is winning football games.

After the loss against Smith at the beginning of the season, the coaching staff and the team realized that we need to come together as one and stop letting Eastern Guilford beat Eastern Guilford.

The reason we lost those two games were due to mental mistakes we made as a team from penalties to missed opportunities on both sides of the ball. But after that loss against Smith things were about to change.

The Wildcats won every game after the loss to Smith and it came from a lot of hard work and commitment. Also, a lot of long hard practices. We sometimes ran plays over and over because Coach Rob demanded perfection and that’s what we gave him. We may have not been perfect every play but we sure did execute about every play perfectly.

Now the football team plays against Hillside for the first round of the 3AA playoffs. We plan on beating them and every other team we have to play. The goal is to make it to the state championship for the second year in a row. This tie we plan on winning.
