BATTLE OF THE BOOKS
Here at Eastern Guilford High School we have a club called Battle of the Books. Any one from any grade level could be in the club, preferably if you like to read. This club reads a lot of books!
In March of this year, members of the Battle of the Books clubs will be battling other schools. They will be seeing which schools are reading more books, and who knows the books well. They will also be able to look at which school has the biggest club and who likes it the most. This is a good way to get all the kids that do like to read books together.
As a 10th grader, my teacher was a helper in battle of the books and she would always be in class reading when she wasn’t teaching. I could see that she was really dedicated to the cause, I believe she read at least 4 books in a week, which is a lot if you think about it, on top of everything else a teacher must do! A great time to catch up on your reading would be when you’re not doing work in class, for example, after finishing your work or after taking a test.
As the years go on, I think Eastern should continue participating in Battle of the Books because it is something many enjoy.
Battle of the Books brings students together and helps foster better relationships with all.
