Cafeteria Conversations

The football team is full of many amazing athletes and I caught up with a couple of individuals that play for Eastern who had more to say to The Paw Print about their season. I went into the cafeteria in search of some players that I could talk to from both JV and Varsity

First, I ran into Rufus Williams, 17, a senior on the varsity team.

Paw Print: What is your Position on the team?

Williams: “I play running back and is a passion of mine”

How’s the season so far?

“so far we been going good, but overall we could do a little better”

What do you plan on doing after high school, do you plan on Going to a 4-year college? If so what college do you plan on going to?

“Yes, I plan on going to a University, Wake Forest University, I plan on playing college football as a running back and I want to major in the science field”

What do you think you could do to improve on the team?

“I could contribute to the team more by becoming stronger by going in the weight room more and increasing my endurance”

How’s the new coach?

“He’s good, he has changed the team a lot by changing our scheme and perspective”

The next person I ran into was Mitchell Mcclendown, 14, sophomore

Paw Print: What is your position on the team?

Mcclendown: “I am a quarter back”

What do you plan on doing after high school, do you plan on Going to a 4-year college? If so what college do you plan on going to?

“Yes, either Florida state or USC, I plan on playing a quarter back in college”

Do you think the team will make it to the championship this year?

“Yes, I think we will win conference and hopefully win out’

Overall, EGHS players are loving the season. They haven’t lost many games but they are out on the field now putting in a lot of work . Hopefully we win the championship and bring that beautiful trophy home, that’s all I have for you wildcats.
