'Fresh Prince' star sues Fortnite

'Fresh Prince' star Alfonso Ribeiro sues Fortnite over use of dance his character Carlton popularized

The gaming community Is in trouble! Actor Alfonso Ribeiro, best known for his role as Carlton in The French Prince of Bel Air, is suing two gaming companies for profiting off of his famous dance moves.

The actor performed the iconic dance 27 years ago on a Christmas episode and in 2014 while on Dancing With the Stars. Ribeiro also stated that the company Epic is faking endorsements. Epic decided not to comment on the situation. He is also suing the creators of the NBA 2K franchise for also using his trademark dance. 2K games also decided not to comment.

Ribeiro wants the court to make them stop profiting off the dance. He's currently copyrighting the dance. And he's not the only lawsuit Fortnite has to deal with. Russel Horning (Backpack Kid) and rapper 2 Milly have also filed lawsuits. Horning is suing over his signature dance “the Floss” in 2016 and 2 Milly for his dance “Milly Rock” created in 2015. Supposedly, more lawsuits are coming.

One of the most popular video-games out right now has a scandal on its hands.
