Nothing to do on Valentine's Day? Why wait? Celebrate early with your girlfriends.

Galentine’s day is a day where you can go out and treat yourself with your besties! If you’ve got a hubby at home waiting for you, don’t worry! Galentine’s Day is a day earlier so you’ll have all the time to be lovey-dovey the next day. Would you like to know who created “Galentine’s day”? It all started with Amy Poehler from the show “Parks and Recreation” season 2, episode 16. Basically, it's like Valentine's Day, only instead of celebrating the love you have for your significant other, you spend it with your best girlfriends, who are after all, are your soul-mates and therefore deserve a holiday all to themselves, too. We went around school and asked people if they know what Galentine’s day is and what they plan to do.

Aaliyah Dillard: “Galentine’s day is when you go with a group of people and celebrate that day with your close friends”.

If you had a girlfriend, would you be okay with your girl to go out for “Galentine’s day”? Amonte Enoch: “it would be okay for my girl to go out on Galentine’s day, unless it’s with a boy”.

As Leslie Knope once said, it's only the best day of the year. And, well, she's right.
