Laced candy results in sick Elementary students

I suppose you have heard of “don’t take candy from strangers”.Well, what if a classmate was giving out candy? Would that still be classified to be a stranger?

Recently, there has been a report of candy being distributed that contain drugs.

In Cleveland, 14 elementary students were sent to the hospital because of gummy bears laced with drugs.

The mother of an Anton Grdina student, who allegedly bought this substance for a party, was arrested later that day. The mother allegedly threw a party the night before, where the laced gummy bears were given to the boy and another child. People Magazine reports "After the boy was told to go to bed, his mother allegedly put the gummies on a table and told him not to touch them. But another child urged the boy to follow his mother into the kitchen and say he loved her, so the second child could take them, according to the report."

At school, many of these students became ill and suffered stomachaches. In Ohio, medical marijuana is legal but recreational is not. If the United States were to actually legalize this drug, would there be hundreds of kids in the hospital?
