Do we really need our phones at school?
Do you ever wonder how different the world would be without cellphones? Cellphones are a big part of human lives nowadays. One day, I was rushing out of my house and I noticed I didn’t have have my phone, I couldn’t turn around because I would’ve been late to school. I was feeling like I was going to go crazy without my phone, I felt so upset. Once it settled in I didn’t feel any kind of way without having my phone all day.
I actually started to feel like I could go without it longer if I actually really had to. Having friends to talk to made it better, I felt like I had a really good day. Cellphones are slightly a distraction because we sometimes feel like we need our cellphones to function, I felt the same way because I thought I really needed my phone to survive the day. Turns out some students from my school feel the same way.
I asked students from Eastern Guilford High School how would they feel if they left their phones at home and was without it for a whole day?
Adrian Totten:“I would feel a little mad at first because I can’t listen to music but I’d get over it”.
Jaqueline Bueno: “I don’t really need my phone that much because I have fun talking to my friends at school”
Isaiah Ogunyemi: “Phones create distractions so I would be fine without my phone for a long time, I don’t need it”.
In conclusion, cellphones aren’t a need in life, We can go without them.
