The teacher of the year award goes to…

MRS. KEENER-JONES! Every year we have a Teacher of the Year and the winner this time was Mrs. Keener-Jones. Receiving Teacher of the Year is huge, so I decided to interview her!

How did you feel when you found out you was teacher of the year? Did you think you would win?

I was shocked when I found out I was teacher of the year! Honestly, I did not think I was going to win.

Is this your first time ever getting teacher of the year?

Yes, this would be my first time ever getting teacher of the year.

Is getting teacher of the year a big deal to you?

Yes, because I was on the list with some other good colleagues and knowing that they still voted for me really makes it meaningful.

How do you feel know that you are the best teacher in 2018?

“I don’t think I was the best but at eastern we just take turns getting teacher of the year.”

Eastern has a lot of great teachers and just picking one must be hard. Teaching is not an easy job so to win teacher of the year you must be a great teacher. Im proud to say That the teacher of the year was also my coach and she a great coach too. Congratulations to Mrs. keener for being teacher of the year!!!!
